What exactly is a complete protein?
A complete protein has an adequate amount of essential amino acids, needed to help your body function optimally. Think of an incomplete protein like building a log house with twigs. It can be done, but takes a lot of twigs, work and time.
**Athletes, the amount of protein you eat IS important, but making sure you are consuming complete proteins is even more important! Why? When you have a hard workout, your body needs to heal. Protein is the main macro-nutrient needed for healing. So think POST workout.
I have made a great recipe that includes a complete protein, quinoa. This recipe can even be a complete meal.
What’s in this to make it a complete meal?? Simply mixture of Protein-Carbohydrate-Fat, with correct ratios as well.
I made a great quionoa salad that has quinoa, vegetable stock, olive oil, lemon juice, pecans, cranberries, bell peppers, chives and parsley. If you want the recipe, shoot me an e-mail and I’ll be glad to share! It was delicious 😉
Quinoa is a complete protein, and can help make a complete meal.
